Welcome to Uncle Patrick’s interview time! Today, we have invited members of the Canada-El Salvador Trade Bureau delegation, who have just concluded their second visit to El Salvador, to share their valuable experiences and profound insights from the trip.

During this visit, our trade commissioners gained an in-depth understanding of several key industries in El Salvador, including freight, tourism, coffee and cocoa bean production, brewing, seafood farming, and automobile manufacturing. Through on-site visits, they gained a more comprehensive and thorough understanding of the local market demands and potential.

Hazel Hernández, the Consul General, began by discussing El Salvador’s recent economic development from a macro perspective. She highlighted that El Salvador is undergoing an economic transformation, implementing a series of reforms and policy incentives aimed at creating a more open and competitive economic environment. She emphasized the government’s efforts to attract foreign investment, improve infrastructure, and enhance education and skills training. Hernández also underscored El Salvador’s strategic position as a commercial hub in Central America. Additionally, she discussed the country’s ambitions to expand its tourism sector, introducing better policies to attract tourists from Asia and other regions to El Salvador.

At the Xinflix Spring Economic and Trade Forum, Hazel Hernández, the Consul General of El Salvador in Toronto, and Stanley Herrera, the principal of Salvadoran coffee brand FranCo, provided the attendees with detailed insights into the economic development and trade features of El Salvador from both macro and micro perspectives.

Hazel Hernández, the Consul General, began by discussing El Salvador’s recent economic development from a macro perspective. She highlighted that El Salvador is undergoing an economic transformation, implementing a series of reforms and policy incentives aimed at creating a more open and competitive economic environment. She emphasized the government’s efforts to attract foreign investment, improve infrastructure, and enhance education and skills training. Hernández also underscored El Salvador’s strategic position as a commercial hub in Central America. Additionally, she discussed the country’s ambitions to expand its tourism sector, introducing better policies to attract tourists from Asia and other regions to El Salvador.

Following this, in the speech by coffee manufacturer Stanley Herrera, he introduced the trade characteristics of El Salvador from a micro perspective, particularly focusing on the agricultural economy represented by the coffee industry. He provided a detailed explanation of the production process of Salvadoran coffee, including planting, harvesting, processing, and exporting. He emphasized that the volcanic soil and climatic conditions of El Salvador give the coffee produced here a unique flavor and high quality.

Stanley Herrera further elaborated on the success of the FranCo brand. He mentioned that FranCo ensures the best quality coffee beans through stringent quality control, meticulously managing every step from planting to roasting.

Additionally, Stanley Herrera called for more international tourists and investors to pay attention to El Salvador’s high-quality coffee. He hopes to promote the development of local economy by attracting more international visitors to experience Salvadoran coffee culture through tourism. He believes that with the growing demand for high-quality coffee in the international market, El Salvador’s coffee industry will face more opportunities and challenges.

Stanley Herrera expressed his hopes for the future. He aims to establish connections with more international partners through this forum, jointly promoting Salvadoran coffee in the global market. Stanley Herrera expressed his hopes for the future. He aims to establish connections with more international partners through this forum, jointly promoting Salvadoran coffee in the global market.
